What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water / Wastewater Operator position at Mid-Ohio Water & Sewer District?
ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to unprecedented growth in Central Ohio, the Mid-Ohio Water and Sewer District is currently seeking highly motivated candidates to fill vacant Water / Wastewater Operator role(s) with the District. Responsibilities include monitoring water and/or wastewater treatment plant equipment such as pumps, motors, air compressors, blowers, valves, and gates; inspecting plant equipment; monitoring control panels and computers to make adjustments to processes; monitoring and controlling the application and supply of chemicals and other materials used in water and/or wastewater treatment; collecting and analyzing water and/or wastewater samples; performing preventative and minor equipment maintenance; and maintaining complete and accurate records.
QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to a high school diploma with a general knowledge of math and science; experience working within a water and/or wastewater treatment plant preferred; possession of an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Class I Water Supply or Water Reclamation operator certification or higher preferred, but not required; minimum Class B Commercial Driver License preferred, but not required; experience working with hand tools and laboratory equipment preferred; experience reading gauges and recordkeeping.
