What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Assistant position at MID-MISSOURI BANK?
Loan Assistants are primarily responsible for producing accurate and completed loan documents for the banks loan customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Create new loan files by preparing documentation for scanning, entry into banking information system and proper storage.
- Complete quality checks of loan packet, document deficiencies, and resolves exceptions with Loan Officer.
- Tracks and completes invoicing for credit life sales on loans.
- Completes lien searches and lien filings; maintains current liens by filing continuations and terminations when needed.
- Monitor cancelled insurance policies and initiates timely follow-up with internal parties.
- When necessary, assists with reports and audits in the evaluation of loan operations performance.
- Carries out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the Bank’s policies, practices and applicable laws.
- Communicate with loan officers in a courteous and professional manner to provide accurate and timely documents to our loan customers.
- Stay current on all products, software and regulation changes through training.
- Knowledge of government banking regulations as they apply to consumer and commercial loans.
- Communicate with bank compliance officer to ensure government regulations are being followed.
- Communicate with general counsel to ensure any legal questions are handled properly.
- Knowledge of bank loan policies and procedures and loan products.
- Read loan worksheets and loan memos to prepare accurate loan documents.
- Compare loan worksheet and loan memo to verify uniformity.
- Verify that all information on loan worksheet and loan memo is complete.
- Verify legal identity of persons or entities using the following forms of ID:
- Articles of Organization or Incorporation
- Bylaws or Operating Agreement
- Partnership Agreement, Trust Agreement, Etc.
- Current Driver’s License or other photo ID
- Acquire or prepare proper supporting documentation for safe and sound loans as applicable, including:
- Application
- Completed loan worksheet and loan memo
- Proper approval per policy
- UCC Search and Filing
- Title work, HUD, flood determination, insurance, appraisal, appraisal review, auto title, and equipment serial numbers
- Guaranty’s
- Borrowing Resolution
- Minutes of Meeting
- Current Certificate of Good Standing.
- Other duties as assigned.
