What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Counselor (Oasis) position at Mid-Michigan Area Public Schools Consortium?
- Master’s Degree In Counseling
- Experience working with school age students.
- Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and community members
- Competency in oral and written communications
- Collaboration with other counselors and colleagues, regarding grade level programming and planning
- Provide Tier I counseling intervention programming for all students
- Provide individual or small group counseling sessions for at-risk identified youth as needed
- Provide key positive behavioral instruction in classrooms to support building-wide PBIS processes.
- Monitor identified at-risk students with attendance, tardiness, and behavior problems and follow up with students on these issues with personal interaction and contacts.
- Attend MTSS meetings when invited for specific students
- Encourage educational success through interaction and mentoring of identified at-risk students
- Other duties as may be devised to assist at-risk students to succeed in the high school setting.
- Maintain records of daily schedule for audit purposes
