- Master’s degree or higher (educational administration or related area preferred)
- 5 years of Building or district level administrative experience preferred

- In collaboration with directors, oversee the development and maintenance of student support, instructional/curricular, assessment, and professional development
- In collaboration with building administrators, facilitate processes and appeals regarding student instructional/discipline concerns and grievances/appeals
- Review and revise Administrative Guidelines to Board policies as required
- Assist the Superintendent in the development of short- and long-range plans
- Stay informed of developments and innovations in areas of responsibility by reading current literature, attending professional conferences and meetings, and discussing issues with professional colleagues
- Attend board meetings and prepare such reports for the board as the Superintendent may request.
- Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required by the Superintendent

Job Purpose and Focus
To assist the Superintendent and provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s curriculum and instructional services. Promote an open, supportive, positive, and safe school climate for learning and high achievement.
The Assistant Superintendent ensures that the district and each school’s education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence.
