Position OverviewThe Senior IT Manager / Director of IT will be responsible for all aspects of IT strategy, operations, and security across the family office and its portfolio companies. This is a hands-on leadership role, working alongside our Founder you will design the roadmap, implement solutions, and personally manage daily IT operations without reliance on outside providers (at least initially).You will work closely with executives and division leaders to ensure our technology supports business goals, mitigates risks, and provides a secure, efficient environment for all stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & LeadershipDevelop and maintain an IT roadmap aligned with business objectives across all divisions.Establish IT governance, policies, and best practices.Advise leadership on technology trends and opportunities.Infrastructure ManagementDesign, implement, and maintain networks (LAN/WAN, VPNs, Wi-Fi, firewalls).Manage servers, virtualization, and cloud environments.Ensure reliable internet connectivity and hardware performance across locations.Cybersecurity & Risk ManagementImplement and enforce robust security protocols.Manage access controls to prevent unauthorized entry.Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and incident response planning.Create and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.Systems & Application ManagementOversee ERP, CRM, accounting, and industry-specific systems.Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud services.Integrate systems across divisions for efficiency.Data ManagementImplement structured data backup and recovery processes.Maintain database integrity and performance.Ensure data security and encryption policies.User SupportProvide direct technical support to executives and staff.Troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues.Train staff on technology tools and practices.Vendor & Licensing ManagementNegotiate with vendors for hardware, software, and services.Manage licensing agreements and renewals.Project ManagementLead IT projects from conception to delivery.Coordinate cross-division technology initiatives.Required Qualifications (Must-Have Requirements)7–10 years senior-level IT experience, covering both strategy and hands-on execution.Strong cybersecurity expertise with proven track record in protocol design and incident response.Proficiency in network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, Wi-Fi, routing/switching).Windows Server & Active Directory administration.Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS administration experience.Backup & disaster recovery planning expertise.Experience supporting multiple companies/divisions under one umbrella.ERP/CRM/application management skills.Vendor negotiation and licensing management experience.High integrity, excellent communication skills, and proactive problem-solving mindset.Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Haves)Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V).Database administration (SQL Server, MySQL).Automation/scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience.Cross-platform expertise (Windows, macOS, Linux).Cloud migration experience.Prior family office, private equity, or multi-company environment experience.IT budget management experience.Project management methodology knowledge (Agile, Waterfall).IT policy creation and documentation experience.Bonus PointsCybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security ).Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps).M&A IT integration experience.Business process automation expertise.Advanced endpoint detection/response deployment experience.Industry-specific software expertise.Experience building and leading IT teams.Proven success handling major outages or breaches.High-availability systems experience.
