ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

 

SALARY SCHEDULE:        WED COORDINATOR-NCCA- $58.000

 

DEPARTMENT:               MID-DEL TECHNOLOGY CENTER 

 

FLSA STATUS:                EXEMPT- 235 DAY SCHEDULE/HOURS VARY 

 

SAFETY-SENSITIVE:      YES

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Adult Career Development (ACD) coordinator organizes and coordinates all aspects of the Adult Career Development courses at Mid-Del Technology Center. This role is responsible for creating, scheduling, evaluating and managing short-term courses tailored to meet the needs of local industries, adults seeking skill or career upgrades, and individuals pursuing personal enrichment opportunities. Minimum of one night a week (until at least 10 pm) or more required.  The position works on a 235-day schedule (12 mos.). 

 

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Knowledge of the Oklahoma CareerTech system and experience working in a CareerTech Technology Center is required
  • 5  years’ experience working in customer service
  • Organizational skills- ability to manage multiple projects at the same time is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Conflict management and problem solving skills with a solution-oriented mentality is required
  • Must have sound decision-making capability during emergency situations

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

      1. Develop, schedule & coordinate short-term classes for ACD.

      2. Recruit, hire and provide leadership to adjunct instructors.

      3. Research and purchase materials, supplies and books for ACD courses. 

      4. Work closely with 3rd party entities that approve courses, and provide certifications and hire our students.  
          Examples:  Oklahoma CLEET, OSDH, Oklahoma CIB and TAFB.

      5. Creates and/or works with the Director of Marketing to effectively promote ACD offerings. 

      6. Collaborate and communicate with the Director of WED on goals, enrollment data, deliverables and issues  
           within the ACD department.
 
      7. Oversee the day to day operations of the ACD office which includes: client billing, taking payments, 
            tracking enrollments and assisting clients with enrollment & answering questions in-person, by phone and     
            email.                                                                          

       8. Work a minimum of  one evening per week to supervise the campus, build relationships with students and           
           adjuncts as well   as conduct course surveys.

       9. Track and upload accurate enrollment data/certificates to ODCTE, CLEET and other entities that require  
           data. Provide WED Director and leadership team with department data.

      10. Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.  

 

LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.  The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration.

 

The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.

 

To ensure continuity of services, a different work location may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for a varied work location will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for this change will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
