Plant Operator/Laborer

Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Co. - Clairton, PA

Our 80-year-old privately held company is looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Operator/Loader in the Clairton, PA area. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Some responsibilities/skills required include:

• Ability to understand and follow all company and OSHA safe work practices
• Ability to work 10 hour shifts Tue-Fri or Wed-Sat schedule depending on business need
• Experience operating heavy equipment (articulated loader) and a skid steer
• Experience working around conveyors and large stationary machinery, such as vibrating screens
• Basic knowledge of truck scaling/weigh ticket preparation
• Basic knowledge of heavy equipment routine maintenance is a plus
• Willingness and ability to perform manual labor (shoveling, cleaning, fastening, using tools, etc.)
• General labor, cleaning processing plant area by shoveling, cleaning facilities and equipment daily.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual labor (shoveling, digging etc.)
• General maintenance and/or welding skills, a plus
• Candidates must also be able to follow specific detailed instructions and work in a safety oriented manner.
• Comfortable with PPE including fall protection; harness and lanyard, etc.

The position is year-round, and most of the work is done in an outdoor environment during various weather conditions.

Additional requirements include:

• Must have a valid driver's license
• 1-3 years experience
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and move 100 lbs with no restrictions
• Ability to frequently climb stairs and ladders (fixed and portable)
• Ability and willingness to work overtime or a rotation schedule as required
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and and criminal background check.
