Sponsorship Sales Associate

Midcoast Rec in Rockport, ME is a community recreation center whose mission is to promote healthy living and build community through sport, fitness, and recreation. Our facility has a full size ice rink, four indoor tennis courts, three virtual golf simulators, and a fitness center. We are currently expanding the facility with a new eight-court pickleball building and four outdoor tennis courts.

We’re seeking a motivated, execution-minded Sponsorship Sales Associate to join as a key member of our team. This role reports to the Director of Marketing & Development and works closely with them to cultivate relationships with business and corporate sponsors and develop strong sponsorship income.

This is a 10 hour/week role that may grow to more. There are systems and supports in place, and the right candidate will be able to help shape the future success of sponsorships at Midcoast Rec.

Job Responsibilities

• With support from the Director of Marketing & Development
• Develop a sales approach
• Prospect and lead generation
• Create pitch and pitch materials
• Work with larger prospects on custom sponsorship packages
• Independently
• Manage time and pace of sales process
• Negotiation and closing sales
• Maintain communication with sponsors and develop the relationship to ensure future renewals
• Able to reach average sales goal of $5,000/month (average sponsorship is about $1k)

• Setting and hitting a goal of 6-7 sales per month

Compensation

• $20/hr 10% commission for first 3 months
• $15/hr 15% commission starting month 4 on-target bonus
• On-target compensation averages $1600 income per month; with no cap if target is exceeded

Skills/Experience:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experienced with sales a plus but training is provided
• Ability to find and approach decision makers or willingness to learn
