Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse Rebar Laborer to join Mid City Steel located at 40 Stockhouse Road, Bozrah, CT.
Job description: Warehouse Rebar Position
Pay Rate: Starting $19 - $20/hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:30pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Duties include operating industrial saws to cut materials to meet customer specifications
- Package products for shipment to ensure error-free packaging, efficient loading, unloading, and departure of trucks, and accurate product inventory
- Cut, bend, shape rebar according to customer requirements using hand tools, power tools, and rebar fabrication equipment.
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing inventory
- Operate and maintain industrial saw equipment
- Prepare orders for shipment by retrieving inventory and packaging appropriately for damage free delivery
- Perform preventative maintenance on cutting equipment
- As necessary, unload incoming trucks and move products to proper staging areas using a forklift, pallet jack or overhead crane
- Accurately color code, catalog, log inventory, and put product away and/or receive incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area by sweeping floors, disposing of cardboard, banding, or packing materials, and removing debris
- Perform related duties as requested to meet department and or business objectives
- Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely and accurate manner
- Follow all Company safety policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook, Safety requirements and any local regulations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
Education and Experience:
- Previous experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
