Role Description
Mid Atlantic Steel Erectors, INC is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a full-time, on-site position in Midlothian, VA. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of construction machinery, such as cranes, loaders, and forklifts. Additional duties include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, maintaining service records, and ensuring equipment operates in a safe and efficient manner. This role may require collaboration with the operations team to support ongoing projects and maintain optimal job site productivity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and machinery related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Ability to maintain accurate service and maintenance records for equipment and components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues effectively.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and a commitment to adhering to workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with site teams and operations staff as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training or certifications in heavy equipment repair is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform hands-on repair work, including lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment components.
- Experience within the construction or steel erection industries is a plus.
