As we enter a major growth phase, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale plumbing and HVAC projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and efficiency from pre-construction through closeout.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of assigned plumbing and HVAC projects — from estimating handoff and procurement to scheduling, installation oversight, and project closeout. This role is critical in maintaining Whitegate’s reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical systems safely, efficiently, and within budget.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with solid field knowledge, capable of managing subcontractors, foremen, and suppliers, while coordinating with general contractors and internal leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plumbing and HVAC new construction projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and coordination between estimating, procurement, and field teams.
- Oversee daily communication with general contractors, owners, and other trades.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with scope and design intent.
- Track and manage project budgets, change orders, billings, and cost reports.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, safety compliance, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with the General Manager and field supervisors to allocate labor and resources efficiently.
- Maintain proactive communication with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely material deliveries.
- Use company platforms (such as Contractor Foreman) to manage documentation and workflow.
- Lead project meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes and progress documentation.
- Support in developing company-wide standards for project delivery and reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years of project management experience in the Plumbing or HVAC trade, preferably within new construction.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, mechanical drawings, and construction specifications.
- Experience managing multi-family, commercial, or institutional projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Procore, Contractor Foreman, or Textura.
- Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and documentation skills.
- OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with submittal processes, RFI tracking, and progress billing systems.
Ability to identify value-engineering opportunities while maintaining design integrity.
Strong technical understanding of both plumbing and HVAC system installations.
