Data Analyst

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Data Analyst to join our Medical Office Controller (MOC) team. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C. (Capitol Hill) with a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Medical Office Controller, the Data Analyst provides analytical, reporting, and decision-support services that drive operational, financial, workforce, and clinical performance. You will serve as a strategic partner to physician and administrative leaders by transforming complex data into actionable insights and recommendations that support planning, budgeting, productivity management, and organizational initiatives. 

You can expect to:

•  Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
•  Analyze and interpret data from healthcare, financial, operational, and workforce management systems.
•  Partner with physician leaders, department chiefs, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and develop analytical solutions.
•  Provide actionable recommendations by researching issues, structuring analyses, and synthesizing complex findings.
•  Support business planning, physician staffing, productivity management, budgeting, forecasting, and operational improvement initiatives.
•  Design and maintain complex SQL queries, databases, and analytical models to support reporting needs.
•  Utilize tools such as SQL, Oracle SQL Developer, Python, SAS, Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, and business intelligence platforms.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to audiences with varying levels of technical and clinical expertise.

What is required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of two years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
• Experience translating business needs into meaningful reports, dashboards, and actionable insights.
• Ability to communicate complex technical and analytical information to non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
• Healthcare organization experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic Clarity or other healthcare data systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Python, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or similar analytics tools preferred.
• Experience supporting operational, workforce, financial, or productivity analyses preferred.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to commute to Washington, D.C. on an as-needed basis.
• Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
• Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $70,551 to $88,189 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
