What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Field Service Technician position at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center?
Do you love horses and being part of a fun and dedicated team? Mid-Atlantic Equine is looking for a part-time technician to join our field service team!
What to expect:
Every day is different! You'll spend two days per week traveling to appointments with one of our four field veterinarians to provide exceptional service to our local clients at their farms. Your job is to facilitate efficient and thorough appointments while keeping the vets and patients safe at all times. Our field service department sees everything from beloved backyard family pets to high-end show horses, providing general health, wellness and emergency care.
In this position you will:
- Restrain horses for procedures and exams.
- Jog horses in hand and lunge for lameness evaluations.
- Assist with diagnostic imaging and scrub and prep joints for injections.
- Communicate with veterinarians and other technicians to ensure preparedness for the day.
- Drive, stock and help maintain the cleanliness of our truck fleet.
You will excel here if you:
- Love horses and want to learn more about the medical care of horses.
- Have excellent horse handling skills and are comfortable handling horses of all ages and discipline levels, including sedated horses.
- Are a multi-tasker and can prioritize effectively and communicate clearly.
- Remain calm, friendly and dependable in emergency situations.

What your schedule looks like:

Salary : $17,000 - $19,000
