What are the responsibilities and job description for the Future Opening: Support Technician position at Mid American Signal, Inc.?
Mid American Signal is an established Support Technician in the Midwest United States, specializing in Traffic Signal Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Connected Vehicle Systems & Roadway Lighting Systems. We are currently planning to expand our team by seeking to employ a full-time, skilled Support Technician based in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area.
Qualified candidates shall meet the following requirements as a minimum:
- International Municipal Signal Association – Traffic Signal Technician Level II certification or ability to obtain same within two years of employment, or other verifiable experience
- Tier One & Two technical support and understanding of traffic signal control systems
- Assist customers in solving basic to complex traffic control system issues
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively in a remote office environment
- Perform trouble calls, system commissioning, and assist with customer training
- Valid driver's license - must meet insurance underwriting requirements
Preferred candidates should be able to meet the following:
- 3 years experience - Support Technician in a Traffic Signal and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems or related field;
- Must have the flexibility to travel (average 40% of time, as high as 70% of time) to customer locations within assigned region
- Travel to our Kansas City, KS headquarters is also occasionally required
- Professionalism, customer service skills, and effective communication skills
- Ability read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and civil traffic engineering plans
- Ability to understand and set up software, networking, and programmable logic circuits
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Microsoft Office suite
Schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional weekends
