What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales/ Event Assistant- Sales Department position at Mid-America Festivals / MN Renaissance Festival?
Mid-America Festivals is hiring a seasonal Sales/Event Assistant for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. This is an in-person position based out of Shakopee, MN.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer inquiries and conduct tours with potential wedding couples.
- Assist in day of wedding event management.
- Assist in coordinating services for corporate and group events; such as event planning, catering, tickets, and outside vendors.
- Contact corporate, groups, and special event patrons selling discount ticket packages for the MN Renaissance Festival & Daily Events.
- Prepare contracts, process ticket orders.
- Maintain records of events and ticket packages.
- Assist with social media.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in hospitality, customer service and event planning a plus.
- Must be available to work weekends during the MN Renaissance Festival August 17 - September 29. Additional evenings and weekend hours as required for events and other duties as necessary June- September.
- Must be able to interact with patrons, co-workers, participants, wedding couples, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Must be able to pass Mid America Festivals pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
HOURS:
- 40 hours per week June- October 11 . Additional evenings and weekend hours as required for events and other duties as necessary.

- 8 hour shift
