Job description
We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to assist our Stretch Forming Machine Operator in the setup, operation, and production of metal parts. Stretch forming is a way to turn straight pieces of metal, commonly aluminum extrusion, and form them to different radii. The result is used in many applications but can commonly be seen on building windows that have arched tops. This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the operator with machine setup, material preparation, and production runs
- Help position, load, and unload parts from the stretch forming machine
- Perform basic inspections and report any defects or issues
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Support the operator in maintaining equipment and production efficiency
Skills
- Prior manufacturing and metalworking experience is a plus, but not required
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation
- Ability to read basic measurements and follow work instructions
- Adherence to health and safety regulations
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time
The typical schedule consists of eight hours per day, Monday through Friday (6:30AM to 3:15PM, with occasional overtime during the week). Since we are a custom shop, production is occasionally scheduled to work on a Saturday.
