What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infrastructure Administrator position at Microworks America?
Microworks America, Inc., a global leader in polyester film manufacturing located 35 miles SE of Atlanta, has an immediate opening for an experienced Infrastructure Administrator.
This hands-on role supports and maintains our enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, security systems, voice communications, and end-user technology. The ideal candidate is resourceful, technically strong, and comfortable working independently in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS, and Exchange
- Manage VMware virtual environments and SAN storage
- Configure and support Cisco routers, switches (Fiber core/Cisco network), firewalls (Cisco Meraki), FortiNAC (Network Access Control), and VPNs
- Administer Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM) and VOIP systems
- Monitor network performance, security systems, backups, and disaster recovery processes
- Provide IT help desk support (Tier II/III) for hardware, software, network, and analogue phone systems
- Install, manage, and troubleshoot printers, copiers, and fax machines
- Install and manage IP camera systems
- Support infrastructure upgrades and cloud initiatives (Azure/AWS)
- Maintain systems documentation, logs, and hardware/software inventories
- Participate in after-hours support when critical issues arise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of combined systems and network administration experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, and Active Directory
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment and firewalls
- Extensive experience with VMware and VXrail (Dell)
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, VPN, and network security best practices
- Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally move IT equipment up to 30 lbs. using a cart
- Comfortable performing hands-on technical work in office and plant environments.
Preferred:
- CCNA certification
- Experience with CUCM, SAN storage, SAP/Oracle
- Microsoft certifications (MCSE or equivalent)
