Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test strategies for RF and microwave semiconductor devices (power amplifiers, MMICs, switches, LNAs, etc.).
- Design and build automated test setups using test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
- Develop test hardware utilizing team approach, reviewing schematics and layouts.
- Write and debug test scripts using Python.
- Analyze S-parameters, power measurements, linearity, noise figure, and other key RF performance metrics.
- Work closely with design, validation, and production teams to characterize new products and transfer them into volume production.
- Responsible for test program development and release to high volume production on National Instruments PXI ATE test platform.
- Support root cause analysis of test failures and yield issues.
- Prepare documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.
Qualifications
Required:
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Ideal candidate has 3 years of experience in RF/microwave test engineering within the semiconductor industry.
- Strong knowledge of RF fundamentals, transmission lines, impedance matching, and network analysis.
- Experience with RF test instrumentation and automation software.
- Proficiency in Python to automate bench test setups, including the development of user-friendly graphical interfaces
- Experience with ATE test platforms such as Advantest-93k, NI-PXI, Cohu Pax, or Teradyne-uFlex.
- Familiarity with wafer-level and/or packaged device testing.
- ATE load board design experience and understanding hardware layout, able to review and comprehend RF routing, power grids, digital routes.
- Experience with mechanical CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Statistical analysis capability
Preferred:
- Manufacturing Engineering experience with RF modules and hybrid packages
- Experience with GaN or GaAs technologies.
- Background in high-volume production test environments.
- Knowledge of reliability and environmental testing for RF devices.
Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000
