What are the responsibilities and job description for the RF / Microwave Tuner Technician - Experience required position at Microwave Circuits?
About the RoleMicrowave Circuits is seeking an experienced RF / Microwave Tuner Technician to perform precision tuning of RF and microwave filters at the component level in a production environment. This role requires hands-on experience tuning filters using network analyzers (VNA) and working with microwave components such as capacitors, coils, and resonators. If you’ve tuned cavity or lumped element filters, multiplexers, or similar components — not full PCBs — this is the job for you.Key ResponsibilitiesTune and align RF and microwave filters (bandpass, low pass, high pass, notch, multiplexers) using Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and other RF test equipment.Adjust components to achieve precise frequency, insertion loss, and return loss targets.Work from schematics, blueprints, and test procedures to perform tuning, troubleshooting, and rework.Collaborate with engineering on product improvement and performance verification.Maintain detailed records of tuning parameters and results.Qualifications2–5 years of direct experience tuning RF or microwave filters, multiplexers, or related passive components.Proficient with Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, and Oscilloscopes.Familiar with filter theory and topologies (Chebyshev, Bessel, Butterworth, etc.).Skilled in fine mechanical adjustments using small hand tools under magnification.Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred (RF/microwave technology, electronics, or related). Why Join UsWork on high-performance RF components used in critical applications (aerospace, defense, communications).Join a skilled, collaborative team in a clean and supportive production environment.Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth in RF technology.Microwave Circuits is an equal opportunity organization.
