About the Role
MicroPort Scientific America is a growing medical technology company dedicated to advancing healthcare through innovative medical device solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to manage day-to-day HR operations (all rounded) and ensure seamless execution of our established HR programs and processes.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations and Administration
- Manage daily HR operations including employee recordkeeping, HRIS data entry, and documentation
- Process new hire paperwork, terminations, and status changes
- Maintain accurate employee files in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Generate HR reports and maintain metrics tracking
- Manage HR inbox and respond to routine employee inquiries
Recruitment Support
- Collaborate with MP Headquarters’ HR team to post job openings and screen incoming applications
- Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications
- Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters
- Support hiring managers through the recruitment process
- Maintain applicant tracking system and recruitment records
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Execute onboarding programs for new hires
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure completion of required documentation
- Coordinate with IT and facilities for employee setup
- Manage offboarding process including exit paperwork and final pay coordination
- Conduct exit interviews and compile feedback
Benefits Administration
- Serve as primary contact for employee benefits questions
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Coordinate with benefits brokers and insurance carriers
- Manage open enrollment process
- Administer COBRA and leave of absence programs
Compliance and Recordkeeping
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain I-9 documentation and conduct audits
- Track and manage required training completions
- Process accommodation requests and workers' compensation claims
- Maintain employee handbook and ensure policy acknowledgments
Employee Relations Support
- Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and concerns
- Route complex employee relations issues to appropriate leadership
- Support performance management processes
- Maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of HR generalist or specialist experience
- Strong knowledge of HR operations and employment law basics
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical technology, medical device, or healthcare industry
- HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR)
- Experience with California employment law
- Familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
