This role is critical to ensuring safe and reliable delivery of electrical power to manufacturing operations. You will serve as a technical leader for high‑voltage systems, owning design support, operations, and reliability while partnering closely with engineering, construction, operations, and safety teams. This position offers high visibility and meaningful impact for engineers who enjoy hands‑on ownership of complex power systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering oversight of 230kV systems including breakers, transformers, protection, grounding, and substation infrastructure
- Provide technical support for design, installation, commissioning, energization, and operation of utility‑scale electrical equipment
- Own reliability strategy including condition assessments, predictive maintenance, health monitoring, and life‑cycle planning
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical events and implement corrective actions
- Develop and maintain substation documentation, one‑lines, operating procedures, switching plans, and emergency response materials
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- 5 years of experience with high‑voltage (≥115kV) utility or industrial power systems
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, and NESC standards
- Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, Aspen OneLiner, or equivalent
- Experience using AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D design tools such as Revit or Navisworks
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with protective relays, protection schemes, and relay settings development
- Experience with SCADA interfaces and power monitoring systems
- Experience with utility coordination, transmission‑level equipment, or substation operations
- Experience mentoring engineers or technicians in high‑voltage systems and electrical safety
