The Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and performance of manufacturing equipment within an assigned process or support area at the Manassas semiconductor fab. This role partners with engineers and production teams to sustain tool uptime, perform preventative maintenance, trouble-shoot equipment issues, and support safe, high‑quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment within an assigned fab area.
- Trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical, vacuum, RF, and automation issues to restore tool availability.
- Assist with tool installations, upgrades, qualifications, and change execution.
- Monitor tool performance, alarms, and SPC indicators; raise issues appropriately.
- Document maintenance activities using established procedures, logs, and pass‑down systems.
- Partner with engineers, manufacturing teams, and vendors to resolve equipment issues.
- Follow all EHS, LOTO, PPE, and cleanroom protocols to ensure safe operations.
- Support assigned shift schedules and operational priorities.
- Technical capability with mechanical, electrical, or automated systems.
- Ability to follow procedures, document work accurately, and trouble-shoot equipment issues.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including nights, in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting semiconductor equipment in a specific process or facilities area.
- Technical education, military electronics/mechanical training, or industry‑related certifications.
- Experience with vacuum systems, robotics, RF/plasma systems, or automated tools.
