This position works collaboratively in a team environment to direct, monitor, and oversee solid waste, recycling, and stormwater programs, while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The Environmental Superintendent at Micron Technology, Inc. plays a critical role in supporting site-wide environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. This position works collaboratively in a team environment to direct, monitor, and oversee solid waste, recycling, and stormwater programs, while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The role contributes to continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and Micron’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Direct and support site-wide solid waste, recycling, and stormwater management programs in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Execute work safely by following Micron EHS policies, completing required training, applying JHAs/JSAs, and stopping work when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot equipment and process performance to improve system stability, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Lead or support environmental and facilities-related projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and change management requirements are met.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance, permitting, and effective issue resolution.
- Perform audits, report EHS concerns, submit good catches, and support ISO 14001 objectives and certification requirements.
- Communicate priorities, risks, and changes clearly through meetings, documentation, and accurate shift pass-downs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including TPM activities, cost reduction efforts, and performance metric reporting.
- Relevant degree or appropriate certification/licensing related to environmental, facilities, or waste management.
- Demonstrated experience in solid waste management or environmental program support.
- Ability to follow established procedures and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Three (3) years or more of experience in environmental, facilities, or manufacturing support roles.
- Working knowledge of stormwater regulations, solid waste management practices, and environmental compliance programs.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections, or ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
