Role Description
Set-up Operator for Swiss Style & or Conventional Lathes (Citizens and Miyanos with Mitsubishi controllers). The Set-up Operator is responsible for using an existing program and layout to produce a finished product. This position is responsible for setting up and operating machines for existing products. Once the machine is running, the Setup Operator runs the machine or assigns it to an Operator.
Qualifications
- Intermediate-level position
- 3 years lathe operator/set-up experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training are a plus
Shift
- Monday-Thursday, 3pm-1:30 AM
- Flexible schedule (40 hours/wk)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review schedule and identify when a job needs to be setup.
- Interpret setup instructions and documentation for existing products.
- Set up the machine with the required materials i.e. tooling, programs, instructions, attachments, fixtures, and programs.
- Complete first piece runoff, ensuring setup, order of operations, clearances, and tolerances are correct.
- Perform first piece approval on work pieces.
