The Specialist partners with field leadership and other departments to identify skill gaps, develop practical training materials, and reinforce technical and operational standards. Training includes new-hire onboarding, hands-on instruction, system updates, and ongoing coaching. The role also provides occasional training to other Micrologic employees when their work requires an understanding of Micrologic products, installation processes, or car wash operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and update training materials, presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, checklists, and instructional guides for field installation teams.
- Deliver hands-on, in-person training on installation procedures, system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and customer-site workflows.
- Conduct virtual and hybrid training sessions when appropriate.
- Support onboarding for new field installation employees and provide refresher training for existing team members.
- Assess training needs through field observations, employee feedback, performance results, and discussions with field managers and department leaders.
- Train installation teams on new products, system updates, equipment, procedures, and changes to operational standards.
- Use realistic car wash scenarios to help employees apply what they learn in the field.
- Coach field employees and supervisors to reinforce consistent installation practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, observed performance, and other relevant measures.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, certifications, and documentation of completed training.
- Collaborate with field leadership, Operations, Implementation, Support, Product, and other teams to keep training aligned with current systems and customer needs.
- Ensure training content reflects company procedures, safety expectations, and applicable operational requirements.
- Identify recurring installation challenges and share feedback with the appropriate teams to improve training and processes.
- Research training methods and tools that can improve hands-on learning and field performance.
- Provide occasional training to other Micrologic employees on relevant products, installation workflows, and car wash operations.
- Support employees through new systems, procedures, and organizational changes that affect field work.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, particularly in hands-on technical training.
- Confidence demonstrating equipment and software, observing practice, and providing constructive coaching.
- Experience designing and delivering in-person and virtual training programs.
- Proficiency in creating presentations, checklists, job aids, and other training resources using PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar tools.
- Ability to lead demonstrations, discussions, workshops, and practical exercises.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt training based on employee experience, learning needs, and field conditions.
- Experience with virtual training platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training priorities.
- Professional presence, patience, and the ability to build credibility with field teams.
- Ability to collaborate across field operations, implementation, support, product, and other departments.
- Understanding of car wash operations and how installation work affects a customer’s daily business.
- Passion for helping employees build skills, confidence, and consistent field performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Car wash operations experience required.
- Experience training, coaching, or leading field installation or technical teams preferred.
- Experience with the Micrologic system preferred.
- Experience with software, hardware, or integrated system installations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with e-learning software and digital training tools preferred.
- Ability to travel to company and customer locations for training or field observation as needed.
