TITLE: Night Shift Production Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
SUPERVISES: Production Lead, Operators, and Inventory Clerk
BACK UP SUPPORT: Production Lead
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Shift Supervisor is directly responsible for providing supervision and leadership to the entire production team and process, at the MicroDried processing facility. It is critical that the shift supervisor ensure that the plant is operating in a safe and efficient manner. A high level of professionalism, attention to detail and conflict resolution skills are key to being successful in this role. As a Shift Supervisor, you must lead by example and hold the accountability for the success and/or failure of your team. Performance is a direct reflection of leadership.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Identifying, resolving, and reporting unsafe acts, conditions, incidents and concerns
· Leading and developing a team of partners to meet or exceed daily production goals.
· Collaborating to improve plant productivity and increase efficiency.
· Identifying and resolving process issues as they arise.
· Ensure all employees follow & adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
· Ensure all employees follow and adhere to corporate policies and rules.
· Adhere to production schedules and ensure materials are available for production activities.
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision, multi-task and prioritize workload.
· Monitor the receiving of finished goods into the MRP system, and storage of all items produced.
· Ensure that inventory is accurate and organized.
· Together with the management team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and Audits CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the production requirements are not met, and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Industry relevant production experience in food manufacturing.
2. Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
3.Working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint software and be proficient with MS Excel software.
4. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Successful candidates will have:
· A strong focus on and commitment to safety.
· An education level equivalent to a High School Diploma and prior supervisory experience preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal, computer and communication skills. (Both oral and written)
· The ability to interpret and follow pre-established guidelines in order to perform the duties of the job.
· The ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team environment.
· The ability to lift 40 pounds and work standing and/or moving 8-12 hours per shift.
· Must be flexible on working varying hours, including holidays, weekends and scheduled meetings.
