Talkeetna Alaska Teleport is a division of Microcom and operates a Satellite Ground Station (Teleport) in Talkeetna Alaska. This Teleport is home to clients operating GEO/NGSO/LEO satellite networks.
JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the operations and maintenance of a satellite communications Teleport, including assistance to the engineering staff, field service engineers and end user customers. Located in Talkeetna Alaska. This role is part of a team that works M-F 8-5.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels with both internal and external customers.
· Ability to react swiftly in fault isolation of complex networks and systems while following procedures for restoration, escalation and notification of routine and abnormal events.
· Lead and execute ground station anomaly analysis and resolution actions.
· Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on satellite communications teleport systems as well as facility support systems.
· Actively participate in and/or lead projects as assigned in order to achieve company goals and client requests.
· Work closely with Microcom network operations staff.
· Provide accurate and detailed documentation including utilization of trouble tickets using a variety of CRM systems, and preparation of recurring maintenance inspections, logs and reports.
· Must have strong PC skills in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook and Visio. You must also be familiar with common PC techniques with which to communicate with satellite and facility system equipment.
· Engage and coordinate with 3rd party vendors to acquire material and/or service solutions required.
· Create and Maintain knowledge-based articles/technical notes as solutions are identified.
· Provide training and guidance to new team members.
· Prioritize time and projects and work independently if required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs) as well as climb up and down ladders. Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift heavy objects (minimum 85lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone as well as ground station specific equipment, power and manual. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects. This role also requires climbing ladders up to 10 ft, operating and working from lifting equipment, raising and manipulating electronic equipment and cables onto satellite antennas and towers.
