Job Description
As an Inspector, you will have a direct impact on the quality of procured material and manufactured products at our facility. You will be responsible for providing QA support which includes incoming and final inspections and data validation. You will assist the Operations and Quality Engineering teams through engagement in cross-functional teamwork. You will identify improvement opportunities for our processes and procedures and ensure that quality is a core value that comes first for our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect and approves incoming materials by ensuring conformance to drawing specifications and industry standards by conducting visual and measurement tests and verifying vendor-supplied information
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications are met and conducting visual and measurement tests
- Follow written procedures to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing on materials
- Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and non-conforming material reports
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with documented material handling practices
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as assigned by the Quality Management team.
- Support the Organizational Quality Policy by identifying opportunities for improvement and assisting with the implementation of root-cause solutions.
- Interact effectively and professionally with customers, coworkers, third-party auditors, and inspectors
Minimum Requirements
US Person
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, diagrams, bill of materials, specifications, processes, procedures, basic geometric dimensioning, and tolerance
- Must be able to perform basic dimensional inspections with instruments such as calipers, pin gauges, microscopes, etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to work with people at various levels, including operators, inspectors, manufacturing supervisors, quality and manufacturing engineers, customers, and external auditor representatives
- Must be able to pass a vision acuity test (natural or corrected near-distance acuity in at least one eye capable of reading the Jaeger Number 1 test chart or equivalent at a distance of not less than 30.5cm (12 inches), and color perception examination
- Must be able to periodically lift material, boxes, and test equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
Desirable Skills
Previous experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment
Previous experience working for an electronic assembly or electronic component manufacturer
Experience with 5S/6S, Six Sigma, and Lean Methodologies
Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications
