Job Description

Microchip is searching for an Engineering Intern – Product/Test to be part of the Secure Products Group Business Unit located in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate placed in this position will be focused on supporting Product and Test Engineering, as well as Applications Engineering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Support Product and Test Engineering with test data collection and data analysis.
• Working with National Instruments LabView data collection system.
• Responsible for R-Pi independent analysis tool for various products
• Basic PCB layout and managing associated peer review meetings prior to fabrication
• Support Applications Engineering with product validation, hardware development and software development.
• Ability to learn cryptographic functions; encryption, authentication, hash function.
• Perform other job related tasks assigned by the manager.
  
  

Requirements/Qualifications

• Student in BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Basic knowledge of electronics lab equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer)
• Basic knowledge Electrical Engineering, Ohm’s law for example.
• Basic programming skills; Ruby, Python, C .
• Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently as part of a global multi-disciplinary team.
