JOB SUMMARY
Microbac Laboratories is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our Marketing team. This role will support digital marketing initiatives, particularly across social platforms, and assist with campaign execution to enhance Microbac's brand presence in the environmental, food, and life science industries. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, data-driven marketing environment.
This is a remote internship, with an expected commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week. Please note that this is an unpaid position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the creation and scheduling of engaging social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant platforms
- Support the marketing team in enhancing and executing Microbac's social media strategy
- Monitor and report on social media performance and engagement metrics using HubSpot or similar tools
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop content ideas aligned with current campaigns and company goals
- Research industry trends to ensure content remains relevant and informative for our target audiences
- Help copywrite and proof social media captions, graphics, and other promotional materials
- Support the planning and promotion of webinars and industry events through social media posts
- Assist in updating digital assets and helping maintain consistency in Microbac's branding and tone
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to campaign development and performance discussions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- Strong writing and communication skills with a creative eye for engaging digital content
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Familiarity with Canva or other design tools is a plus
- Detail-oriented with an interest in science, health, or environmental topics
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, remote-friendly team environment
- Home internet acceptable for remote computer work
