The Shipping Clerk Lead is responsible for coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and assisting with the day-to-day direction of shipping operations. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Management to ensure orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
What You'll Do
• Lead and coordinate daily shipping activities to support production schedules and customer requirements
• Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation including packing slips, bills of lading, labels, certifications, and customer-specific paperwork
• Utilize ERP systems and other software platforms to enter, track, and maintain shipping records
• Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve shipping discrepancies or delays
• Coordinate with freight carriers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries
• Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and material movement as needed
• Train and support team members on shipping processes and procedures
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and safety policies
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional shipping department
What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience required
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Advanced computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, ERP systems, and data entry applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
