- Drive strategic growth across industrial and manufacturing accounts from our Rochester, NY base.
- Own the hunt: research, outreach, and relationship-building with plant leaders and executives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to turn complex customer challenges into automation solutions.
- Earn a competitive base (around $80k DOE) plus commission and profit-sharing.
What you’ll tackle
- Build and execute a targeted business development plan tied to company objectives.
- Prospect via networking, market analysis, and outbound campaigns to create qualified pipeline.
- Strengthen client, partner, and stakeholder relationships to accelerate adoption.
- Deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to decision-makers.
- Continuously scan industry trends and competitors to refine approach and messaging.
- Report KPIs, forecasts, and insights to senior management.
- Represent our brand at conferences, site visits, and industry events.
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s in Business, Marketing, or related; MBA preferred.
- 5 years in business development/sales; manufacturing or industrial automation is a plus.
- History of achieving revenue goals.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal ability.
- Strategic and analytical mindset.
- Comfort in fast-moving, team-based and independent settings.
- CRM experience and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Willingness to travel to clients and events.
Even better if you have
- 10 years in technical sales, sales engineering, or field sales support.
- Automation, Robotics, or specialized technical market experience.
- High computer application literacy (Microsoft Office; eager to learn internal systems).
- Account leadership calling on multi-level plant/facilities management.
