Micro Facture is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
We are an AS9100D-certified, ITAR-registered precision machining company supporting demanding applications across the aerospace, defense, firearms, energy, and commercial industries.
This is a key technical role within our organization. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of complex machining projects from print review and process development through programming, setup support, first-piece prove-out, and production optimization.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam
- Program complex precision-machined components for multi-axis CNC equipment
- Support 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, CNC turning, and mill-turn manufacturing
- Review engineering drawings, models, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
- Develop efficient machining strategies, tooling plans, setups, and workholding approaches
- Work directly with machinists to prove out new programs and troubleshoot production issues
- Improve cycle times, tool life, process reliability, and overall manufacturing efficiency
- Support quoting and manufacturability reviews for new opportunities
- Help transition new parts from prototype and first article into repeat production
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Leadership on challenging customer requirements
- Maintain the documentation and process discipline required for aerospace and defense manufacturing
- Identify opportunities to improve programming standards, tooling, automation, and manufacturing technology
- Strong CNC programming and manufacturing engineering experience
- Advanced experience with Mastercam
- Experience programming complex, tight-tolerance machined components
- Strong understanding of CNC milling and machining principles
- Experience with multi-axis and/or 5-axis machining strongly preferred
- Mill-turn programming experience is a major plus
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds, workholding, materials, and machining strategy
- Ability to troubleshoot machining problems independently
- Experience taking a part from print/model through a proven production process
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work closely with machinists on the shop floor
- Aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing experience is highly valued
Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and alloy steels is a plus.
