Job Summary:
This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for overseeing a team of Buyers and a Sourcing Specialist, sourcing critical supply chain items, working closely with the Buyers, Production Managers and Schedulers to ensure the production schedule can be met, identifying opportunities for outsourcing assembly work and qualifying vendors to meet our quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with critical component suppliers.
- Maintain primary purchasing responsibility for key items.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers.
- Develop procurement strategies and write standard operating procedures.
- Research and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Work closely with Production Managers to determine outsourcing opportunities to enable the Production Departments to maintain build schedules.
- Work with the Master Scheduler to adjust the production plan to reflect sourcing issues.
- Work with Quality to qualify new vendors and identify potential outsourcing suppliers.
- Provide regular updates to Management and Sales on supply chain issues and their possible impact on future shipments.
- Monitor past due line items for all open job orders and/or purchase orders.
- Provide leadership and mentor a staff of Buyers and a Sourcing Specialist, overseeing the department recruitment, training, performance management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Eight years of relevant purchasing experience.
- Three years’ experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Sourcing Manager, Materials Manager or similar.
- Experience with ERP software (Infor preferred).
- Expertise in negotiation and contract management.
- Understand market dynamics and demonstrated ability to use sound business judgement.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and sustain networking relationships.
- Proficient in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years’ of management experience.
- Manufacturing and electronics industry experience.
- APICS Certification.

Salary : $108,413 - $120,459
