Job Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant will facilitate the day-to-day accounting functions in the areas of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cashflow/banking, and other accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record financial transactions, post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Review and process Sales and Use Tax reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers.
- Manage corporate credit cards and process payments.
- Provide support to accounts payable.
- Monitor the collection of accounts receivable and assist with processing payments.
- Assist with annual external audits.
- Assist in budgeting process.
- Process payroll.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Support the Director of Finance with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Five years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills, including with MS Office Suite.
- Independent judgement.
- Highly organized; ability to handle several projects concurrently and to work in a team environment.
- Ability to summarize data and analyze results.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll accounting.
- ERP system experience (Infor).
