Job Summary:

This position will report to our Quality Manager and be responsible for supporting our Manufacturing Modules and Manufacturing Systems production departments, and our Machine Shop, ensuring our products meet our QMS, IPC and reliability standards, performing First Article Inspections (FAI), root cause analysis (RCA), managing nonconforming materials (MRB), improving test yield and driving continuous improvement across the teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain quality standards, procedures, and inspection plans (IPC-A-610) for PCB assemblies and system assemblies, ensuring quality is built in at every step of the production cycle in order to exceed our customers’ quality requirements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct internal audits to evaluate process capability and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Monitor in-process and final product quality, performing inspections and testing to ensure compliance.
  • Lead investigations into nonconforming materials and production failures using structured methodologies like 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process conformance and continuous improvements / Lean initiatives for quality issues.
  • Coordinate the disposition and tracking of nonconforming parts.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools to improve yield, monitor trends and reduce nonconformances.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and NPD and Continuation Engineering teams to support and integrate quality into new and existing products and processes.
  • Perform supplier evaluations, monitor vendor performance and manage the Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) process. Support procurement in qualifying new vendors.
  • Monitor quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and incorporate metrics into a quality scorecard.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Three years’ relevant quality engineering experience supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, 5S).
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools, measurement systems, data analysis, and technical drawings/schematics.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical quality issues to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using 8D Problem Solving, CAPA, RCA, 5 Whys, Cause and Effect diagram, Mistake-Proofing, Control Plans, Process Flow Analysis, PDCA.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse workforce at all levels in the organization.
  • Some travel to suppliers and customers, both domestic and internationally, up to 10%.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within the semiconductor industry or PCB and test equipment assembly environments.
  • Certification(s) from the American Society for Quality; Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).
  • IPC-A-610 Certification.

  • May be required to periodically crouch, stoop, bend, or reach across all planes.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/or move material weighing up to 60 pounds, 0 - 33 % of time.
  • May be exposed to high noise levels for short amounts of time. Noise levels average around 70 decibels and intermittently reach 85 decibels when working near large machinery (hearing protection required).


Salary : $86,262 - $108,307
