Job Summary:
This position reports to the Modules Assembly Production Manager and is responsible for keeping the production schedule through Module Assembly, Module Test, and Electrical Inspection on schedule according to APS recommendations and scheduled ship dates. The duties of the production planner include developing the schedule for production workflow through these departments in consultation with management, as well as, monitoring material requirements to ensure all materials are stocked for jobs that are prepped to send to the assembly floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate production workflow of job orders to meet the master production schedule.
- Monitor material requirements, identify any shortages, and work with the Crib or Purchasing to address.
- Coordinate shift equipment resources to meet the production schedule.
- Coordinate personnel requirements through Assembly Supervisor.
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time. Facilitate issues as they arise and escalate as appropriate to the Production Manager.
- Produce and distribute job paperwork required by assembly floor to build product.
- Close jobs in ERP when completed and organize paperwork for filing.
- Readjust schedule and communicate changes to Production Manager if engineering changes or quality issues interrupt production schedule.
- Address issues when they arise, aiming for minimum disruption, including schedule changes and component shortages.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field strongly desired, or equivalent, relevant work experience.
- 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and active listening skills.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
