Job Summary:
This position reports to the Manager of Systems Assembly and is responsible for managing all production floor assembly operations. This position requires working closely with engineering groups, planners, assembly leads and the department manager. Key responsibilities include coordinating all production schedules through the assembly floor to meet delivery deadlines and minimizing equipment downtime, supervising department staff, fostering a culture of safety and quality, leads process improvement initiatives, reviewing procedures and documentation, and communicating proper procedures to assembly employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the production planner to schedule production workflow and allocate resources as needed to achieve the plan. Monitor production schedule, respond to delays and keep manager informed.
- Coordinates process improvement projects with Manufacturing Engineering.
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of labor hours in ERP (Factory Track), makes certain all appropriate production activities are captured and required paperwork is being completed according to Micro Control processes.
- Supervise department and mentor staff, to include recruitment, training, performance management and time and attendance administration.
- Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safety policies and regulations, ensuring employees are trained on safe work practices and participating in accident investigations.
- Ensure all assemblies meet the Company quality standards by enforcing all quality policies, ensuring employees are trained on standard work procedures, tracking and addressing quality issues and partnering with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to address root causes.
- Ensure all applicable procedures are followed and identify any additional procedures required. Work with manufacturing engineering to develop additional procedures as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in electronics or related field or equivalent experience.
- Five years’ of relevant experience.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to read and understand schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced with large capital equipment machinery assembly
- Experienced with electrical panel & mechanical sub-assemblies.
- Experienced with technical documentation (Schematics, Exploded Diagrams, etc)
