The Role
The Warehouse Lead will support the day-to-day operations of a high-volume Returns Center for a rapidly growing e-commerce company in the automotive industry. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this individual will oversee returns processing, warehouse efficiency, and team performance while ensuring accuracy, speed, and an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment—comfortable managing people, solving operational challenges, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inbound and outbound returns operations, ensuring accurate inspection, documentation, and restocking of returned inventory.
- Supervise and coach warehouse associates and leads to maintain productivity, quality, and engagement.
- Monitor key metrics including return volume, turnaround time, accuracy, and costs; report findings to the Operations Manager.
- Implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize space utilization.
- Collaborate with inventory control, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth coordination and issue resolution.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and OSHA compliance standards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and Excel reporting tools to track performance and ensure process compliance.
- Assist with labor planning, scheduling, and coverage to meet operational demands.
- Step in as needed to support hands-on warehouse tasks during peak periods or staffing gaps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of warehouse, logistics, or operations management experience (e-commerce or automotive experience a plus).
- Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution setting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with WMS platforms and Excel reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds as needed.
