Now seeking residential and commercial HVAC service technician' and installer
An HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs residential and commercial heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems. They diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform routine maintenance, and ensure optimal indoor air quality in compliance with safety codes and environmental regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Installation & Setup: Safely install new HVAC/R systems, ductwork, and electrical components.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Use gauges, multimeters, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
- Repair & Maintenance: Replace defective parts (e.g., compressors, motors, fans), unclog drains, and recharge refrigerant lines according to EPA guidelines.
- System Optimization: Calibrate thermostats, test system performance, and recommend energy-efficiency upgrades.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients, explain repair needs, provide maintenance tips, and detail system operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date work logs for service calls, parts used, and time spent on jobs.
Key Requirements & Skills
- Education & Training: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an HVAC certification program or formal apprenticeship is highly preferred.
- Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is mandatory for handling refrigerants. NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a major plus.
- Licensing: Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean record. And appropriate trade license's
- Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of thermodynamics, electrical circuits, and reading technical schematics and blueprints.
- Physical Demands: High physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined or extreme temperature spaces.
Typical Work Environment & Compensation
- Work Settings: Technicians frequently travel to residential homes or commercial properties (offices, schools, retail). Schedules often include "on-call" rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to handle emergency repairs
