Mechanic - Heavy Equipment

Michigan Wood Fibers is hiring an experienced Mechanic to join our team in Zeeland immediately! Our next Mechanic will come to us with knowledge of semi-tractors, trailers, parts and heavy equipment.  If you have welding and fabrication skills, that’s a plus! Our ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.  MWF equips our mechanics to work independently on preventative maintenance, diagnostic and repair work.  Effective mechanics work quickly and efficiently with a positive attitude.

To be considered as our next Mechanic, you will need:

• 2 years of proven, successful diesel mechanic experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Verbal communication that is positive, effective and proactive
• Ability to be a great teammate
• A sense of urgency in your daily work
• Availability to work consistent overtime from March through May with periodic overtime throughout the rest of the year, primarily the work is Monday – Friday with the occasional Saturday

Mechanics at MWF also need to:

• Pass pre-employment requirements – physical, drug screen, criminal background check and motor vehicle check
• Be 18 years of age or older
