What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Quality Assurance Technician position at Michigan Turkey Producers?
Essential Functions of Role:
This is a “hands on” non-production operation role; Ensure all SSOP and Quality Programs are being followed correctly and being completed; Establish and maintain good working relationship with U.S.D.A.; Provide a resource to operations and sanitation personnel; Complete all records pertaining to Quality Assurance SSOP Program; Perform clerical functions for Quality Assurance (filing, making copies, etc.); Monitor and check freezer/cooler storage areas; Monitor plant AQL levels; Monitor and enforce MTP’s GMP and Safety policies; Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must maintain perfect attendance; Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; Must posses a strong work ethic; Must be able to give direction and take action to insure enforcement as needed; Must be able to implement all rules and procedures established by the SSOP and HACCP programs and must be able to work very closely with USDA; Must be detail oriented; Must be able to speak, write and understand English; Must be able to work safely; Must be able to work in a team environment; Must be able to wear all necessary Personal Protective Wear required while performing role: Protective Eye Wear, Ear Plugs, Hard Hat/Bump Cap, Hair Net, White Coat (Clothing Protector), Gloves (Plastic/Cotton), Plastic Apron, And all other required PPE’S

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions; Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined; Must be able to twist, bend, reach, and stand/walk for 8 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet cold environment; Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
