What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Evis Zone 1 Level 2 (Vent Cutter) position at Michigan Turkey Producers?
Essential Functions and Role:
This is a “hands on” production operation role; Meeting USDA, MIOSHA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards, and under the supervision of a foreman, the functions of this role are to work with a knife, removing the vent out of the turkey without contaminating the product; Operating and performing role at speeds necessary to meet production demand; Operating under the OSHA & MIOSHA safety standards and rules when using knives or any other equipment or machinery; And any other tasks assigned by his/her Manager or foreman.
Qualifications:
Must be able to utilize a knife to perform the essential functions of the role; Must be able to learn other jobs for the purpose of rotation; Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; Must be able to follow all the rules and procedures established by the HACCP program; Must have good attention to detail; Must be able to understand the English language; Must be able to work safely at all times; Must maintain excellent attendance; Must be able to perform other tasks assigned by lead person, foreman or operation manager; Must be able to work in a team environment; Must be able to and must wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment required while performing role: Protective eye wear, Hearing protection, Hard hat, Hair net, Beard net – (if applicable), Protective coat (clothing protector) , Forearm protection – (if activities require it), Plastics gloves – (if activities require it), Cotton gloves – (if activities require it), Kevlar glove – (if activities require it), Mesh cutting glove – (if activities require it), Plastic aprons – (if activities require it), Steel-toed, waterproof footwear.
