Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate, full-time opportunity for a Material Handler, located at the Toledo, Ohio facility, 3332 St. Lawrence Drive, Toledo, OH 43605.
Job Summary
Material Handlers are responsible for safely loading and unloading tankers and van trailers. Assist in testing of incoming and outgoing product to assure all customer specifications are met and all incoming materials meet our specifications. Receive and ship inventory and assist in managing inventory accuracy. Utilize computer programs and written documentation as needed. Work in a team setting to maintain product flow, satisfy customer requirements, and meet Michigan Sugar Company safety and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately load and unload liquid sucrose tankers, van trailers, and trucks
- Utilize computer programs and written documentation throughout the day
- Sample and analyze sugar inbound and outbound product to assure specifications are met.
- Take physical inventory count as needed and compare values against inventory database.
- Maintain the warehousing area to be clean and organized while meeting all SQF and other regulatory requirements.
- Capable of performing general cleaning and maintenance activities as needed.
- Follow all safe work practices and procedures for assigned tasks.
- Perform required tasks in a variety of weather conditions, as needed.

- Previous fork truck experience, preferably in a food storing or producing environment.
- Computer skills, math, written and oral communication skills
- Work in a team setting to complete desired tasks.
- Follow all SQF & GMP quality system guidelines & safety practices.
- Physically able to lift up to 50lbs and work in any condition, indoors or outdoors.
- Maintain a valid fork truck license.
- Work any shift and weekend overtime as required.
- Able to climb stairs, ladders, use catwalks, bend and lift throughout the day.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast pace and varying production environment.
- Ability to quickly solve problems and make decisions.
- Demonstrated self-starting work ethic and positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to stay focused and function with a strong attention to details.
