Key Functions
- Obtains detailed patient medical histories and performs physical examinations to assess health status of patients for review by physician.
- Provides support and services within professional teams under the direct or indirect supervision of a Physician.
- Performs routine surgical procedures under supervision in order to assist physician.
- Performs, orders and interprets routine laboratory tests.
- Notifies patient of results.
- Removes sutures, dresses wounds, recommends prescriptions of non-controlled substance medications, writes nursing orders and performs other duties related to patient care.
- Analyzes physical histories, laboratory data and x-ray results to assist physician with patient diagnoses.
- Develops rapport with patients and families and provides education.
- Counsels and instructs patients in order to provide support, facilitate recovery and to foster patients' self-care at home.
- Interviews and schedules correctional facility patients for surgery and coordinates pre and post-operative care to facilitate continuity of care.
- Maintains medical and billing records.
- Maintains a system for accurately recording and reporting patient conditions in the medical record, and maintaining billing records.
- Assists in planning, maintaining, evaluating and interpreting patient care standards for the clinic.

- Proficiency in performing urologic procedures such as catheter placements, cystoscopy assistance, and postoperative care (if expected by the role)
- Excellent patient assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong communication and patient-education skills
- Ability to manage a diverse patient population and maintain accurate, thorough documentation
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
- Willingness to learn and adapt within a fast-paced specialty clinic environment
