Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and safety of the patrons in the Youth Center. This includes appropriate and efficient emergency response when needed.
- To enforce the Youth Center rules in an appropriate, fair and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.
- Assist the patrons as needed, but without compromising the safety of others using the Youth Center.
- Maintaining patron forms: event, lesson or meal purchasing.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the Michigan Shores Club Staff Manual.
- Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested.
- Be on time and cover all assigned hours.
- If unable to work, the Youth Center Attendant will find an approved substitute.
- Attend to the Safety and cleanliness of the Youth Center and its equipment.
- Dress in uniform when on duty.
- Perform other job related tasks as assigned
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or customer-facing roles is highly desirable
- Background in events management or organizing recreational activities adds value
- Lifeguard experience or first aid certification (CPR included) is preferred to ensure safety readiness
- Familiarity with conflict management techniques helps maintain a positive environment during busy periods
- Experience working with children in settings such as schools, camps, or entertainment venues is advantageous
- Knowledge of food service or resort operations can enhance guest interactions in multi-service environments
- Theater or public speaking experience supports effective communication with diverse audiences
