Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor various manufacturing machines including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC programming equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Perform routine inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Adjust machine settings using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for precision machining.
- Maintain safety protocols by operating forklifts for materials handling and ensuring safe use of hand tools and fabrication equipment.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance.
- Keep detailed records of production activities, machine maintenance, and inspection reports for continuous improvement.
Experience
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience working with machining equipment such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, stamping presses, or flexo presses.
- Hands-on knowledge of CNC programming, CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tooling setup, fabrication techniques including welding and tool handling is a plus.
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings accurately to ensure precise manufacturing outcomes.
- Proficiency with mechanical tools like calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely with relevant certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including materials handling and quality control procedures.
