We are seeking an experienced Cold Header Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting cold heading machines to produce high-quality fasteners and precision components. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor cold heading machines according to specifications
Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and minor repairs as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions
Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met
Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and scrap
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
Qualifications
3 years of experience operating cold heading machines (required)
Strong knowledge of tooling, setup procedures, and machine adjustments
Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to weight requirement
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred Skills
Experience producing wire formed products
Familiarity with secondary operations (thread rolling, trimming, etc.)
Preventive maintenance experience
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure
