Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Pain Medicine

Position Summary

West Michigan Pain is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our outpatient pain management practice. Working alongside our board-certified pain management physician and experienced Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an important role in helping patients improve their function, reduce pain, and enhance their quality of life.

This position offers the opportunity to care for adults with a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions through comprehensive evaluations, medication management, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning. Whether you're an experienced provider or a new graduate looking to build a career in pain medicine, you'll be supported by an experienced team committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

We are open to either a full-time or part-time schedule (3–5 set days per week) for the right candidate.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing medication management, physical therapy, interventional pain management recommendations, and other evidence-based treatment options.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other tests.
• Perform office-based procedures within scope of practice.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic health record (eClinicalWorks).
• Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff, therapists, and referring providers to coordinate high-quality patient care.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, state, and federal regulations.

QualificationsEducation

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Licensure

• Current Michigan Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Board Certification.
• Current DEA registration.
• Michigan Controlled Substance License (if applicable).

Experience

• Pain management experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in primary care, orthopedics, physical medicine & rehabilitation, neurology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or other related specialties is welcomed.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
