Position Summary
West Michigan Pain offers an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. The provider will work both independently and collaboratively with an experienced clinical team to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and help improve patients' function and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on interventional procedures, physical therapies, and other non-surgical treatment options
- Provide patient education and counseling
- Perform minor office-based injections and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical staff
Qualifications Education and Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Board certified
- Current Michigan license (or eligible for licensure)
- DEA registration
- Controlled substance license (if applicable)
Experience
- Pain management experience is helpful but not required
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for procedures and documentation
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
Busy outpatient clinic setting with routine exposure to conditions common in healthcare environments.
